Looking to buy used stainless elbows on cast manifolds in saltwater . These are older flange type instead of long through bolts, any issues with that?
Riser#816900C
Motor# OC753700
Will be replacing manifolds at the same time with new ones
Will it work?

"Stainless Steel", (whatever that means) used in combination with saltwater and elevated operating temperatures is never a good combination.

Especially if they're coupled to cast iron manifolds..

I may be wrong, but I think the galvanic difference would accelerate corrosion of the cast iron...May not be enough to matter considering the normal life span of either part..
Mine motors are anti-freeze cooled except sea water going through heat exchanger and risers. To me the Cast Iron risers are the weakest link. I was going to replace my CI risers with stainless steel but now I am not sure. I don't see a lot advertised and when I do they average about 2x as much as CI.

Putting stainless and cast iron together is not a good idea in salt. There are mitigation methods

I'm not finding enough info on what you currently have to comparing what your wanting to use. Original elbow shows 90*, the part number 816900 is no longer made but I'm finding it's used on V8 and so far not finding for V6. In most cases it probably uses same, just not able to verify

S/N showing 88 to 92 V6
I might think more along the line of newer dry joint style

I have a 90 V6 4.3 so it seems like it may work. Any input on flange style (short bolt) vs a normal elbow long bolt? I would think the gasket would stop corrosion between the elbow and Cast iron manifold with the 2 different metals.

Part number 816900 is only list as V8, the Letter and then number after it is for port/starboard and different motors. Elbow uses 6 each 1.00 long bolts and 2 each 2.30 inch long bolts to secure remote oil filter

Your motors original part 807899 uses same for each side. List 8 each 5.75 inch long bolts.

However, the bolts bind them together. I have used SS bolts all over my MC saltwater used boats for years and never had any problems, that I could identify. However, since there is not a lot of SS risers being sold, the water passing through them may produce exceedingly more corrosion. I always thought it was just $$ that convinced MC not to use SS.
