all i know is i had to cut off every bolt on my 10 year old trailer ....ill probobly have to cut off every bolt on my redone with stainless trailer ,,,chances are better that i wont........i know the custom welded 316l ehaust that is on my truck will last awhile longer with out rusting and i realy like the fact it has no crush bends in it anywere ....some nice ceramic coated doug thorleys ....

i think i will have to close my all stainless FDA aproved drug and device factory tomorrow because the SS hardware that has to come apart everyday for cleaning is going to stick together somehow ;) <br /><br />i am going to tell the guy next door makeing MRE bars for the army to stop useing SS also <br /><br /><br />tommays

Guys, Guys, Guys,. Stainless has it's applications and there are lots of instances that stainless is the only way to go. <br /><br />The point I’m trying to make is that stainless has its down side and is not always the best material for the job.

BTW, Just to throw some more info into the mix, I was in Lowes yesterday and picked up some stainless nuts. All the nuts/bolts that they carry were listed as grade 5. <br /><br />And all the talk of galling? Never came across it. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen, but I guess it would happen less with harder grades.
