We came home Friday night from a Football game and my dogs were sniffing all over the front of my truck. I figured another dog must have marked my tire while parked at the game. The next morning I went outside to find the dogs still sniffing. There were also some new scratches on my hood and fenders where they'd had their paws up on my truck. I figured there must be something in there so I put the dogs in the kennel while I checked the truck over. Well it took me a while but I eventually found out what it was. A young squirrel. I thought it was dead, but it moved when I gave it a little poke with a stick. After I got hit to abandon his little hiding place he ran and hit somewhere around the top of the transmission. Feeling pretty certain he as away from any moving parts I started the engine and he hit the ground running.

I don't know if it hitched a ride from the game or hid there to escape the dogs as I arrived home the night before.

Definitely not...

Your average red squirrel weighs about 11 ounces which is .6875 pounds. This one was just a baby but let's not nitpick here.

An average horse weighs about 1200 pounds.

Assuming a horse makes 1 horsepower, then proportionally the squirrel makes about .000572916667 hp pound for pound.

The Nissan Titan Endurance V8 engine makes 317 hp @ 5200 rpm.

When the squirrel took his .000572916667 hp with him that left the Titan with only 316.999427 hp.:(

Looks like a warm place to me to live:p.

I would be looking at the wires for chew marks. Ive seen lots of damage from rodents under peoples hoods.

You realize that running the truck with the squirrel allowed you to claim a Bio-Fuel credit....... but no more! ;)

Tank of gas and a bag of planters peanuts please! :D

I own a Ford Festiva that runs on a single gerbil:eek:.................... I thought about getting the "squirrel" upgrade, but it was too expensive.
