Spring is in the air

One of the cool things about living where I do, is the smells that resonate. I've always loved approaching spring as you can start to roll the windows down in the car and open them up in the house.

Well being indoors all winter I tend to "forget" what spring and summer smells like until I start rolling down the windows.

Ahh the smell of the burgers and brats on the grille, mixed in with the freshwater smells of our lakes.

Ahh the smell of the Mighty Mississippi as I pass overhead on my morning commmute. It's not very active right now, but it will sooon be rushing!

Ahh the smell of the flowers, and LIFE! Spring is in the air!

Down South here we are already past that...flowers and everything else is blooming...pollen in the air and then there is ALLERGIES

Yep, about 4 more weeks to pull the boat out, clean it up, drag it to St.Johns River, Fl. about 2nd week in April!...Before the heat, yellow flies, black flies and those @#$%Love Bugs! April is good in Florida! Spring's a'comin'!

Amen to that! spring is surly coming, just went for a run, along the river and up the creek, trout season is only a month away!

Bluebirds are at work homebuilding in one of my houses, about 200 Sandhill Cranes flew over this morning. Warm (70s) and very windy.

Yup. it is here.

It's easy to tell spring is here in TN ... it's right behind the first tornado

Down South here we are already past that...flowers and everything else is blooming...pollen in the air and then there is ALLERGIES

I still have 3 1/2 feet of snow in my yard. But, the sun was out and it was warm today walking around in short sleeves soaking it up!!

winter never really started here. been cutting the grass since mid-Jan. i've already cut it more times this year than all of last year (drought from Mar-Nov).

wildflowers are already out, too.

Just finished a coastal trip from VT to FL and return by car........ you can visually see the changes and today here in VT the weather is going to be in the high 50's (with a chance of snow tonight).

Yep...... it is coming FAST!!! This is the weekend to set the clocks ahead

Yeah, its a great time of year....my favourite!! One of the things I like the most about this season is the ever increasing daylight hours every day. Earlier mornings.....longer evenings....yeah.
My wife has busy stocking the garden centre with the new product/plants/seeds/etc and I'm probably about 1-2 weeks away from my first 'grass cut' of the season.
We are not known for having a 'stereotypical' Canadian winter...but this year it has been really mild. I think I heard this is the warmest winter on record for the last 40+ years or something like that.
Ahhh spring....bring it on!!

Yep, 'tis the season. Pine trees are good and full of yellow. Soon everything will be yellow.

Came home after work yesterday morning, raining, think I'll take a nap; too wet for anything else.

Just as I lay down, the rain stops, a little sun shines, birds start to chirp.....lots of birds start to chirp.....

Can't nod off for all the chirpin'........

Must be near 'bout SPRING!!!

Sorry Lipp - thought of you Monday (flew through Denver on the way to Vegas). Rockies looked beautiful, but still snow on the ground all over.

Stern drive is on ... fittings are greased ... oil is changed ... it's gotta' be springtime in Tennessee!!
