how what??? TIG process usually has a foot pedal for control of heat (amperage) on the fly. you dont get this with any of the other processes. Either you run with what you set up with at the beginning of your weld, or you stop, reclean and start over with different settings and correct for whatever ailment that caused the weld to be inferior to begin with. as for shielding gas, that is usually a setting on the torch or pedal where you can keep it going well past when the weld is completed to prevent embrittlement in the cooling weld pool..... not stainless, but a skilled TIG welder can weld soda cans together all day long and not have an issue. (Trust me, this isnt me by any stretch. I know the process, but dont have the skill to do it.... if I need it done, I farm it out to someone who does it all day and is good at it)
