i own a 2003 75 mercury. i suspect a miss or skip as some call it, i call it a miss. anyway i just got it and was wondering if you can check this engine the same as my older car? and that is remove a wire and see if there is a change in the idle. i have done this and only seen a drastic change on the #2 plug. removing the other 2 i really dont tell it doing anything. now when putting them back on i here the spark and it may run just a hair smother. but not much. i already changed the plugs and saw no diferance.

so can i replace the wires first or is it one asembly? i already ran a gallon of gas with stabil in it. it helped alot, some say to use sea foam. but i also read on here that sea foam and stabil has 95% the same ingrediant.

last night i swapped 2 of the coils and saw no improvement. i put a spark tester on all the wires and the spark looks good.
