Why fix what isn't broken?
That engine was designed to use those particular plugs. What do you hope to accomplish by running a different plug?

Re: spark plugs

you can run any equivilent plugs you want to run......but you may not be happy with the outcome. stay with the recommended parts.

Pretty much since the dawn of OMC, Evinrudes, Johnsons, Gales have had Champion brand plugs recommended by the factory.

Well.... as bad as it sounds, you are hijacking, but if you plug your engine info into here;
http://www.ngk.com/Default.asp

It will give you the NGK equivalent, that may or may not run as good as a Champion. For more info I would start my own thread if I were you.

Re: spark plugs

You may run an alternate brand, but be sure to stay away from anything with 'R' in the spec. But as said above, preferably stay with the original Champion.

Fish, the cross reference from the Champions to NGK is BPZ8HS-10
