Correct...."the right plug" resistor or plug or not.

Resistor if your running electronics (fish finder, radio, etc).

Gee, that info is about the easiest to find. There are several models of 90HP OBs of that year. Take your model number to the Champion spark plug web site and see what they say.

As Chris1956 says there are several models for that HP/year.
The recommended plugs are:-
88, 90, 100, 110, 112, 115, 1979 - 1998, QL77JC4 or QL82C.
90, 115 (60º V4 Eagle), 1995 & newer, QL78YC (see note 3).
90, 115 TurboJet (90º crossflow V4), 1994 - 1997, QL77JC4 or QL82C (see note 3)
All are gapped at 0.030"
All the above are QL type, ie. inductively suppressed, NOT resistor plugs

(Note 3 states that all engines with VRO or OMS should use QL type plugs)

Vic, I was under the impression that the OIS (optical ignition) need to use the "Q" suppressor sparkplugs, e.g. QL78YC. I did not think the oil injection system required the "Q" suppressor.
