I read a previous post regarding this subject. I am curious if the auto wires would affect the way an out board runs or is it just a matter longevity. I have been testing my outboard in a barrel with auto wires. At this stage would there be any difference in the way the motor runs. I plan on replacing them( the auto wires) but am curious again if there is a difference in the way the motor would run at this point.

1988 Evinrude 110

Replies are appreciated more than u know.

YOur motor uses stranded wire ignition cables. The wire, Packard 440, is also available in bulk from a well stocked dealer, for less than $1 per foot.

You do not want automotive resistor wires on your engine.

Seahorse, Thank You for your response. You are correct and I agree,I DO NOT WANT AUTOMOTIVE RESISTOR WIRES ON MY ENGINE.

My nagging question is how do they(automotive wires)affect the way an engine will run in a test, low RPM situation.

Will they cause harm or poor performance?

Thanks Again for all replies.
