Spark Plug for '84 Sea King/Chrysler 15hp.

It has Champion 8883s gapped at .025" in it now. Was told to put in Champion L86 plugs,gapped at .035" Does this change sound correct?
model : VWB 52119E
sn : 48X 32139

Autolite 425 and NGK B6HS are equivalents to the L86.

The parts manual calls for.
​Either B6HS or the Champion RL82
Never seen any plug gapped at 25
The 8883 is a L78C

My Mercury Mark 10 had J7Js at .025". It was stolen in '69.

69 at that age I was still asking for help to change the oil.
IF??? I changed it at all.
