Even though weather is dependent on hundreds of different factors, from all over the world, we still complain when when the "Viper Weather Radar", is not 100% correct, 100% of the time.

70 years ago today, they sure could have used an Iphone with Accuweather.

"Along the Mississippi River several hundred duck hunters had taken time off from work and school to take advantage of the ideal hunting conditions. Weather forecasters had not predicted the severity of the oncoming storm, and as a result many of the hunters were not dressed for cold weather"

True; forcasting has taken great strides, but is still a "best guess" situation. All it takes is a butterfly in china to flap its wings.

I remember a pic I saw once of a country weather station..Was a rock hanging from a rope with a sign that read " If the rock is"....

Warm = Its hot
Wet = Its raining
Cold = Its cold
Swinging = Its Windy
Frozen = REALLY COLD

Here in Colorado we dress for what the weather is supposed to be but be prepared for what it can be, in other words hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Its hunting, nothing your hunting is worth your life but the challenge of battling mother nature is to us. Makes us all better men.

This september was a rough bow season, warm, the Elk were not moving so not a very good harvest. First rifle season(week or two after Bow season) things had changed and we had hunters stuck all over the state big snows came in and it was pretty bad, had 7 hunters missing in one area. Couple days later the weather cleared and they found that the 7 hunters(two seperate hunting parties) had found each other and pooled resources to come out of the situation just fine.

Hunting can be the ultimate challenge
just like the boy scouts fellas
Be Prepared!!
