Re: Somebody bought my boat

I'm cash strapped right now. If I don't pay off the Home Equity loan before I buy a boat I'll be living in it. Normally I wouldn't care but this is the Winter Season here, Spring, Summer or even early fall no problem, 20 degrees is awfully chilly to be sleeping out in the doghouse.

Now if I find a fixer upper for $5oo or less, I think I can swing that. Wife won't object too much. I've been watching this below one for a while now.

They just lowered the price on it to $300. What is this, a Starchief?
I'm not sure I want to mess with finding a cover and storing it for the winter though. It's getting kind of late to be messing with a boat. I don't think that will fit in the garage.

In the spring I would look at something like this;

That first one for 300 is a Chieftain. I my self think that is the best looking cabin style Starcraft made. I want one just like it in the 25' to 28' range. :D

That first link is a rediculous deal.

That second link is a nice boat but beware it has an OMC I/O in it.

Too big for me but JimbC here you go! Cleveland is a ways from Atlanta though.

I need to move on that 18 footer. That would satisfy my needs right there.

Problem is it's 225 miles one way, and now it's December. We got snow here and my motivation is low. The colder it gets the less my motivation. I really need to Cowboy up and go get it. I'd be happy with that style and size.

Do I want to pull tires on a trailer and grease bearings in the snow? I talked to my brother in-law and my brother about a road trip Saturday. They are less than enthused, looks like bad timing on this one. We'll see, I'll end up with a tinnie by Spring for sure.

Probably should have shown more of an interest in November when FishingPa showed it to me. I'm kinda new to Starcrafts and don't know what style and size I want. Last thing I want to do is get a boat spend time and money fixing it up then sell it because it's not the right one. This is why I lost out on that 18' Holiday though, too cautious.

Jump on it! Offer the guy a price low enough to pay for the trip and necessities.

Take it to a car repair place before leaving the area and have them put new bearings on the trailer and tires if needed... then just tow the thing home! No muss, no fuss!

Wish I could have a beauty like that!

The prices on all these boats may be quite a bit higher come springtime. $300 for that '74 cuddy/135hp OB?!? That's a steal of the century.

I bought a boat this fall since I wanted to work on it all winter and needed to get a good deal to get what I wanted. Sometimes I will be wishing I could park in the garage though:D
