Solenoid removal question

Have determined that the solenoid on my '77 Mercury 85 HP is bad. I've ordered a manual but it hasn't arrived yet. Meanwhile, how do I remove the inside stud that holds the solenoid in place?

I have had the OEM for my engine for years. Recently I added a Solec. Much more definitive and illustrated. Sorry OEM, I'll take the Solec.

Are you talking about the starter solenoid, or the choke solenoid?

May work for a newer motor, but ain't worth squat for the older ones. Trust me, took a fight but got my money back
