Re: Soft Plastics/Rods
I Have Fished Soft Plastics For Over 20 Years, rod Selection, line Weight And Size Of The Bait Are All Important.i Prefer The Lightest Line I Can Get Away With As Long As Its Soft,i Do Lots Of Reties Because I Chunk In Heavy Timber And Thick Grass.i Use A 7 Foot Lightning Rod With An Old Mitchell 300 For Wacky, rigged With A 02 Or 03 Circle Hook, this Setup Has Been A Moneymaker On Hot Still Days.the Easiest Technique Is Probably A Carolina Rig,in Heavy Timber Or Grass Use A Medium Heavy Rod,14 To 17 Pound Test With A 12 Pound Leader, lift The Rod Tip And Let It Drop,be Ready When Reeling Up The Slack, bass Usually Will Grab And Hold The Bait When Its Falling Or Stopped On The Bottom.these Are The Two Most Productive Techniques I Have Found For East Texas Lakes Or Central Florida.
