Sad to read about the tornados the ripped through some states and killed seven people last evening. And one was a young 7 year old little girl. My condolences goes out to everybody that was effected by those storms.

Seems we are having very warm weather and tons and tons of rain to the point of flooding now. Unusual for sure, but it has happened before. But everybody try to have a Merry Christmas anyways.

Made it though the storms last night ... minimal damage here in TN. My condolences for the losses of others as some areas did get hit pretty hard.

ALMOST had to turn on the AC last night. We were closing in on 80 in the house with the place all buttoned up.

I was concerned for your safety early this AM, GA_.

I woke up in the middle of the night as I forgot to get the trash out to the street. I spent the next 2 hours watching the weather channel with their focus being north of Atlanta. Hope all is well.

Santa better have a decent set of all terrain mudders on all the reindeer and the sleigh plus be up to date w his AAA recovery coverage.

We're on a bit of a hillside lot, and the front yard has turned to brown muck in the last 4 days. 70+/- out now, more liquid sunshine later today. At least we're well east of tornado alley...

May those struck by tragedy, recently in the midwest or now until the new year, find peace in the coming days.

Thanks Sam. Other than almost 3" overnight and a lightning storm from Hell, we were OK. Tough sleeping with the wind, rain lightning and thunder though. Several rivers are out of their banks a little further north and the one through town will be. And more rain coming, hopefully not as bad as last night.

No rain or flooding but we lost power last night about 10:00 PM and it didn't come back on until we were gone, around 12:30 this afternoon I think. The biggest problems are our only heat in the house is a heat pump and we're on a well. There wasn't much wind so I would guess the problem was the heavy snow load on the Ponderosa Pines. They have a tendency to break off. The house is well insulated so it had only dropped to 60 F this morning. Getting water and flushing the toilets is the biggest problem. This is only our second outage in 9 years so we don't see the necessity for a backup generator. A generator could handle the well pump but not the electric heat unless it was very large. All is good now, no need for a generator.

My condolences to those that lost property and worse.

It's still white outside with over 6" on the ground. A little dusting last night and below freezing temperatures pretty much guarantees us a white Christmas.
