Just finished supper. Spent 7 1/2 hours doing an oil change and fuel filters in one boat. 13 gallons of oil, 13 oil/ fuel filters, and cleanup. Then lifted the new tier three motor with the crane into the Nichivo car ferry for the cruise service.
Tomorrow back to running the 150 ton travelift, where I can relax.....
I ran a 400 ton ladle crane at Algoma steel for years.Carrying around 236 tons of molten steel had its interesting times.

Yikes! I've seen videos of that type of equipment. Looks scary!
Today like most days was on the lift. Rain, 40° and the raingear was soaked by the end of the day. Glad I have a hot shower and supper ready when I get home.

I once dragged a drunken crane OP out of the cab of his crane after he knocked me off a 3 story while we were setting trusses. About te only time I was grateful to be walking a wall in February, about ten feet of snow in the hole softened the fall. Young and dumb I was...I dont think he ever ran a rig drunk or sober after that.

Due to many changes, our Thanksgiving is starting a new chapter. Many years I have been doing it on the lake. We had to sell though as family passed and Johnny come Latelys raised the taxes. I will now be hosting a Thanksgiving picking party in the shop. Looking forward to it. Yes, still 4 birds, it's not how much turkey, it's how many ways you can cook it. Fried, smoked, grilled, roasted.

Dont worry though, I'll be cleaning the shop first. We are trying to figure a way to get a tv and the game down there.

Had a customer eye my hoist jack. He decided to have me make him one. I used a scrap shore station winch tube and some 2×5. 20191017_201035-2268x3024.jpg20191017_201123-2268x3024.jpg

Itll get a trailer winch mounted to the top. Makes it easy to crank up a hoist to get the wheels mounted on them to pull them out of the lake for the winter.

Not sure if I'm getting old, lazy, or crippled...I used to be able to load the shrink wrap stands by hand alone. Now I use the fork lift...a lot less painful. I thank God every time that old lift starts and runs.

Each one of those rolls weighs a couple hundred pounds or more depending on the size film...

Jake - I think you are behind the coming world-wide shortage of shrink wrap film. :D

How many rolls so far and aren't you done yet?
