Bunks or not, there is no reason IMO to unhook the safety chain before the boat is in the water. You people who do this are DANGEROUS to the ones around you.

Nobody cares if you take 30 seconds and then spend the extra 15 that it takes to unhook the chain.

I watched some of these guys in a Bass tourney here load and some of them are amazing. If you fish enough tourneys, you get good at it. I have witnessed a bunch of them have one guy backing the trailer as the other one sits in the boat. As soon as the trailer stops the boat is sliding on up to bow stop. Guy in boat reaches over bow and connects winch and off they go. I have seen some guys to the whole thing in less than 30 seconds. Pretty cool to see.
