The reports are 22 inches, but with the blowing I have more in some areas less in others.

I got this funky drift off my dock (this is a boating forum after all). How it hangs there, I haven't a clue.2011 February 2 005 small.jpg

I woke up to thunder and lightning this morning at my Dads in northern Mi. 4:45am I`ll let the pictures talk.

School closed for 2 days here??????? Not sure why. Predictions much worse than actual. Has snow and ice yesterday morning and a lot of rain last night. Some freezing on the trees and power lines. Parking lots still covered with ice, but roads are mostly clear. Not as much snow or ice as predicted.

Re: SNOWMEGGEDON How bad where you are??

Here's the news that has me concerned:

****According to the National Weather Service, 15 inches of snow fell on Peoria by 6 a.m. Wednesday. Fulton, Tazewell and Mason county snowfall amounts ranged from 14 to 16 inches.

"We didn't quite get the 20 inches expected," said Kirk Huettl, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Lincoln, adding that the accumulation puts the Peoria area at 50 percent above the norm for the season. "We're up to about 45 inches for the season, 30 inches above normal."

Temperatures will approach the mid-teens Wednesday, then drop suddenly this evening to -9 degrees. Wind chill readings could be between -24 and -14 overnight. A wind chill advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 12 p.m. Thursday.****

That bitter cold is going to make snow removal VERY difficult. It'll be DAYS before things are normal. I really just hope that the monster trucks coming for Monster Jam can make it okay, I have tickets for Saturday afternoon!

Just cold and windy here in Central Texas now and it's not supposed to be above 35 degrees before Saturday with snow possible yet on Friday.
We are getting this though...Rolling blackouts
Ten minutes until the power goes out again for fifteen minutes. (The first fifteen minutes of every odd hour)

Be back at 1:15...

Those photos are beautiful.........from where I'm sitting.

Seriously guys, keep safe and will be praying for the elderly and the ill. And anybody else that must be out there performing their duties.

We are predicted to get snow tomorrow night and Friday, if not snow freezing rain. Temp this morning was 24, its about 32 here right now. Winds about 20. We've lived on the island about 21 years and this is the coldest we remember.

With any luck at all this will be over in a couple of days and we can get back to normal. I have so much tropical landscaping, I'm worried about losing palms, etc.

I don't envy any of you up north with a blizzard. Coming from Upstate NY myself I am no stranger to them. We used to pray for them when I was a kid so we'd be snowed in for days.

Sasto, pray for the ill and elderly. Also, any pets that aren't fortunate enough to make it into a warm area.

Stay put and don't go out in that mess.

Mother Nature whimped out again. We were suppose to get about a foot of snow,we ended up with less than half of that. But, I did have to shovel for the first time this year. Before this, it was more like sweeping. Am I sick to be wanting a good old fashioned blizzard for a change?

The falling temps have already started, big time. It was 20 for a high today, it's already down to 10. Low is supposed to be -10! High of 9 tomorrow. Yippee!

It's so cold my kids went to school in t-shirts, shorts, & sandals today. My only complaint is that I don't live further south. Godspeed to you snowbound brethren.

Here in far north Michigan, we got zero new snow! Cold temps, but nothing to shovel!

Surprisingly it all went south of us!

Just getting ready for the I-500 international 500 mile sno mobile race on Saturday!

Well, if you had any actual CITY streets, with sidewalks, and buildings over 2 stories, you'd realize it is a big deal! ;)

Peoria did a good job "clearing" main roads, but they are having real problems actually REMOVING the snow. So LOTS of it is left on the street, in kind of man-plowed median dividers. I also didn't see one City plow truck actually operating today, and I was on the roads for 11.5 hours and travelled 101 miles in Peoria.
