I can damn near guarantee that I can pull hard enough on a slalom to cause the motor to turn in the direction of my pull, despite what the driver is doing with the steering wheel.

I can also guarantee that motor is in no way capable of supporting the speed required by a slalom skier and the boat its attached to is going to get whipped sideways regardless of rope position.

Yep, I completely agree, but that is not within the capability of this rig regardless of where you are towing from. You could probably bring this boat to just about a complete stop if you wanted to.

My point was that the bracket which Ned L was suggesting would be a poor substitute on any outboard. I'm only saying that the pulling force on a tube or a skier could cause some significant steering forces. Seems like a lot of hassle to find/fabricate a bracket to fit on an outboard motor that wasn't designed for one, rather than just installing the transom eyes with the proper reinforcement. Hell, you could probably find a welder who could weld on a couple of small eyes on the actual rub rail itself which would give the highest attach point of all for less trouble than anything.
