Skeg Question

The leading edge of the skeg on my 115 Hp Mariner OB is pretty chewed up from hitting rocks and I am wondering A) will this affect the boat performance and B) is there an easy fix?

Depends on how chewed up it is. Post a pic. Maybe you only need to take a file or dremmel to it and smooth it out. That's a common thing.

Or bolt on a skegguard.

Thanks, will try filing down and see if I can smooth out the rough edges.

Any good prop shop can repair that.

Bought replacemant skeg $20.00 cut old one off took it a welding shop welded new one on $40.00 total cost $60.00 brand new looks nice..
