Silicone vs. Rubber Exhaust Hose

In the past when replacing hoses on boats I have run I have always used Triton silicone hose. Needing to replace the wet exhaust hose on my boat (and my money) which is preferable when taking into consideration of the cost difference?

Rubber lasts damn near forever, silicone a little bit longer. What happened toyou old hoses???

One exhaust hose has a "nipple" protruding while engine is running, the other I just don't trust.
