Oops!, I noticed in your picture ( pre extension ) that you really shouldn't have much problem extending that cap. I didn't realize originally how simple the cap was back there.

i hope to be on the cap very soon... it has a few problematic areas....but i think it will be not too bad... id like to tackel it from underneath... but well see how it plays out

Huh, always something isn't it? :D Well, I don't want to hijack this thread, you've got one for me to do that in already :D

Sure would be neat to see some of these boats posted here in action. I'm certainly going to get some video of my boat once I've gotten a chance to float it.

Hey everyone, just joined up yesterday.
Heres a pic of my project boat. Its a 1968 invader with an 85hp evinrude. The boat was originally owned by my grandfather then passed down to my father about 23 yrs ago and basically just got used for fishing and had very little up keep.
Im planning on restorating it the best I can and give it lots of use.

Thanks bro...we took it out 2 weeks ago on a whim on a 60 degree day for an hour and half. That was all the kids could take...60 on land is 45 on the water! lol

This will be the first actually planned full day on water.

My first boat (not my first experience in boating, family has never been a day without one) just bought last week.

27' IMP 270 Liberty, with Twin 3.7LXs. I took the interior out to make it more my own. Galley will only b e a sink and some storage and some more seating under there is the plan!

This is my 1988 18" Angler CC. I have owned this boat for 5 years. This is an old picture but, I just repowered it with a new 140 hp Suzuki motor. I recently wet sanded it, buffed. polished and waxed it. It looks like a brand new boat. I am also having the console seats reupholstered. It handles the sea very well and I am extremely happy with my Angler.

Here is my First boat 1975 Ebbtide 15', just put a stator and rectifier on my 1975 70hp johnson. These boats sure are strong. It's funny, my boat is 9 years older than me.

1985 Galaxy. I bought it in 1996 off of the original owner. He was a great guy to buy from. He never let the boat get rained in, didn't let his kids get in it dripping wet, Armor-Alled the seats every time he used it, claimed he rarely ran it over 3k rpms and basically was an all around anal guy.:D It showed. The boat pretty much looked like new. I pretty much inherited his tendencies except the under 3k part. The boat still has an interior that looks like new, a solid floor and nice hull. It has been a great boat. About the only things that I have ever had to replace were one impellor, a shift cable, and an alternator who's housing had cracked.

Here is my new (to me) boat. 1997 Sea Ray 210 Bow Rider with a 5.7L MerCruiser. Owned her for a whole week as of today, just got back from the first run at over slow no-wake speed. We've had a bit of rain here in southeastern Wisconsin lately, filling up most of the lakes around here and draining one to a mud pit. Still waiting for my Wisconsin registration number to come in the mail too. The last picture is my daughter helping drive the boat today. "Go faster, dad!" was all I heard. :)

Re: Show Yer Boat II

Here's my most recent boat. She' an 88 Bayliner 2455 with only 8 hours on a fresh +.060 350 and a fresh re-built Cobra stern-drive. I traded my little bro my old Regal bow-rider (in the background) and an old F-250 for it. He bought the Bayliner as a project boat and got impatient for a boat that was ready to put in the water. To date, after re-adjusting the valves after the break-in period, converting the ignition from points to electronic, putting in an old GPS and Lowrance X-17, all I have left to do is replace the power steering oil cooler, buff all of the oxidation from the hull, add a VHF radio, find out why the cabin lights aren't working, add battery #2, and an antenna for the Lowrance GPS and she should be ready for the water!
