This is your chance to show it off. If you don't own it, please don't post it. It would be interesting to include any history of the vehicle and or what part you played in it.

Re: Show us your Classic or Unusual Auto

1965 Mustang convertable, manufactured in Sept 1964. It is a '65 model year with alternator not a 64 1/2.

I bought it from the original owner in 1980 for $6000.00. It had spent its life, as a daily driver, around Pacific Palisades and Malibu Beach area. I thought that all to be very fitting as I lived in the same general area, graduated from high school in 1965 and got many a sunburn at Malibu Beach.

I totally disassembled the car, starting in 1983, and put it all back together with new and refurbished parts. It has a new (1983) Ford factory long block in it and a transmission of unknown mileage.

I currently have about $16,500.00 in it and very little of that is in paid labor.

My wife thinks I'm nuts for hanging on to it. Over the years she often 'suggests' I should sell it.

Re: Show us your Classic or Unusual Auto

Don't sell it. You put a lot of work and cash into it, and yours is the only vote that counts because of that. I know a guy who owns a new Vette, and rarely drives it. It is paid for and all that. His wife wanted him to sell it because she felt he didn't need it. Of course, she has the nice house, nice car, all of that, and he footed the bill. Needless to say, he told her she should get rid of the new Acura and get an econbox because she really didn't need that Acura. He still has the Vette, she still has the Acura..... :D

'67 fastback GT mustang. 390 CI V8. 36,000 original miles. Very rare...perfect condition. Bought it a few years ago for $8,000 - because the dealership thought it was a fake!
I have what I have been told is a very rare vehicle. It is a 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible (factory) pickup truck. It is 4X4 with the 3.9 engine and 5 speed trans. Sorry I don't have a picture to scan in as scanner isn't working anyway. Wife loves that truck. Likes to put the top back and just ride.. :D :D

Re: Show us your Classic or Unusual Auto

1971 G30 1ton Van
Bought it last year for a tow vehicle for the boat. Pulled the 350 and did a total rebuild. From the time I pulled it into the shed until I started the engine was 6 weeks. My father-in-law helped me a LOT with this, as this was the first motor I've rebuilt. The last day we worked on it, I told him "It will run today"...he kinda shrugged it off, we started at 8 in the morning, and at 11pm, it was running.

This winter I'm working on the body work, and re-doing the entire interior.

pictures at : http://www.emgebros.com/noel/71van/

This was my 1970 International Scout 800A I rebuilt about 4 years ago. I swapped in a Ford 302, welded in new floors and quarterpanels, cut and rewelded the full removable top into a half-top (still removable), Cut and rewelded a Nissan pickup rollbar, repainted it, and a few billion other things. I sold it a few years ago and have regretted it since.

The day I bought it

Re: Show us your Classic or Unusual Auto

mellow... this thing will see VERY little driving in the winter. Basically just a backup if my mini-van is out of commision for some reason.

It came with stove, ac/dc fridge, suburban heater etc.... completely gutted the interior, once body work is done, I can re-do inside. Just a tow/camp vehicle that will double as party bus I'm sure.

Hope to have everything done by next winter, then the next year drop a 700R4 OD Tranny in to get rid of that TH350 gas guzzler, rear end is super low gear ratio, bout 3300 rpm to get 60-65mph

The first one is a little 1940 harley flathead. 45 cubic inch motor. I pieced it together out of parts that were laying around the garage.

The second one is a 1937 ULH flathead harley. It is 80 cubic inch and a rare beast. It is now in my garage undergoing a full restoration. It took me years just to find all the correct parts for it. Note the correct rear fender in background. Finished pics will be here someday.

At the present time I am working the motor on my new twincam harley,,wont those custom guys flip when I blow em off the road on my full dresser :D

If I had a scanner I could show off some of the Indians and Harley's I have restored in the past.

Nice bikes Flathead. I had the feeling that name was Harley oriented.... :D

As for my pics, I have a hard time geting a decent pic hosting site. I used the Yahoo thing, and even with the thing set for public viewing, I am still the only one who sees the darn things. Oh well, I'll find somewhere else. :(
