as long as the boat and trailer are below your towing capacity, your Nissan should be able to launch it. having 4 wheel drive will help. the boat is 3000# without fuel and gear. my shoreland'r trailer weighted 1200#. assume full fuel tank (37 gallons) and gear, and your looking at 4500-4700#

If Scott's figures are correct, you should be within the Frontier's capabilities. Make sure the trailer brakes are working!

This may be absolutely ridiculous but having the "Surge" or hydraulic brakes will only assist me while driving forward not in "launch" mode correct?

Re: Should I? (time sensitive)

Well 250.00 later and it is in the garage with about 6 inches in front and 6 inches to the rear to spare. Weather conditions and work has not allowed me to get it on the water yet, (going crazy) to test it out. The previous owner started it regularly and used Stabil. Prior to its Maiden Voyage should I put a battery charger (tender) on it? If so, which setting should I use? Also, while pulling it around from the trailer service place and backing it up I realized how much heavier this boat is than the previous. I have a 2009 Nissan Frontier (V6), the trailer does have hydraulic breaks, does anyone anticipate a problem, perhaps at the launch? As always thanks in advance for your input.

Nice work with the trailer mod . . . now if you ever get a bigger boat (as most of us eventually do), will you have to move to a bigger house?

The Nissan should be well up to the task of towing & launching.
