shortshaft-to-long... possible or crazy?

I was given a early 80's Merc Force 9.9 short shaft, but need a long. Rediculous undertaking, or not that big a deal? The motor looks like it's never been used.

Can be done, sailor.

1. Swap it for a long shaft engine.
2. Swap the leg for a long leg.
3. Buy the leg/shaft extender and related parts and replace the short stuff.

Not a big deal if you have a Service Manual, which is an excellent investment anyway.
