Changed water pump on an alphaone gen2. Drive goes into foward and neutral. When in reverse it only clicks

Are you testing it with the motor running or turning the prop by hand?
If turning the prop by hand then it normally clicks one way when in reverse and clicks the other way when in forward.

Did you have the gear selector in forward when you removed the drive?

you might get a mod to move this to the mercuriser section.

Thanks for the reply. Testing by had. When in reverse it cicks both ways. I will check out the Merc section

Yes the gear sector was in foward gear. When in reverse it clicks in both directions

Changed water pump. After putting all back together it shifts into foward fine. But in reverse the prop clicks in both directions. It was in foward gear when put together

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Unless you were holdin' tension against the gears, my guess is, it slipped into neutral as you slid it home,......

I use a bungee strap, from cav-plate 'round the prop shaft, back to the cav-plate to hold the tension on the shaft myself,.....
