Shifting question

I have a 1973 19' crestliner with the straight six 165 pre alpha outdrive. Could someone tell me which way the prop should be able to turn (engine off) when in forward, neutral and reverse. When it is in forward it won't turn counterclockwise (probably normal) but will make clicking noises when it turns clockwise. Thanks....

yours is sounding normal


fwd= prop lock ccw, ratchets cw
neu.= prop free wheels, no feel, no sound either direction
rev= pop lock cw, ratchets ccw
