Re: Shifting issue, 1995 Bravo 3, Delay into forward.
Yesterday, I set the idle up from 600 to 700 RPM and started adjusting the up and down adjustment on the shift linkage left of the carb. Seem to fix the problem for now! I took it for a good ride and it worked great. Not sure turning the idle up had anything to do with it, but I seen something about that in one of these threads so I thought I would try it. I will run it this way for a while and maybe turn idle back down and see how it works. Of course, the problem could come back at anytime, but I am hoping I can make it to the end of the season. I adjusted this by just keeping the boat tied to the dock and would put it in forward and then reverse and adjusted to balanced the feel between going into forward and reverse. I ended up adjusting down from where it was at to allow it to shift forward better. Remember, I am not a Boat mechanic! 95 Sea Ray with Bravo 3 and motor is Chevy 350 carb with less then 400 hours on it. Also, one last thing that I forgot to mention. I believe the outdrive may have OMC outdrive oil in it. The place where I store uses this type of oil. I will put the correct oil in it next year, if I make it through this year.
