shifting cut out

i had my motor running for about 20min and went tgo shift it and it died wont start. 1983 470 4cylinder mercruiser fuel, starter just to mention it has a week spark

Make sure the roller is centered in the notch
Check for voltage at the + side of the coil
Ckeck /adjust/clean the points
Remove the grey wire(tach feed)
