Shiftee trim knobs

Hello, new member here. 2008 Alumaweld Intruder with prop outdrive. I am new to this boat and am looking for help with the trim switches on the shifter know. What are the 2 switches or buttons for? One shows what looks like forward and back, the other shows up and down arrow. Th first one seems to be a boat on the water with horizontal arrows. Can anyone clue this clueless newb in please? I have seen trailer button talk as well as up down talk.
