I have another question on my mc1 outdrive. I replaced the shift shaft bushing assy. and i forgot to hold the shift shaft down when I removed the bushing and the shift shaft disconnected with the shift crank. I installed the shift shaft and it went back into place with the shift crank. Does the shift shaft have to be in a certain position when reinstalled? My question is when I go to install the intermediate shift shaft I cannot get the the drive to be in neutral so I can turn the intermediate shaft clockwise into a gear and counterclockwise into a gear. I guess im not positive on how this works for sure. If i shift the drive so it locks when I turn the prop clockwise which position on the clock should the arm on intermediat shaft be pointing? If the drive is in neutral which position on the clock should the arm on the shaft be pointing? And reverse?
Thanks in advance this is all new to me and I can't seem to find an answer in the service manual.
