Shift Lever Question

Gee, at least take the cover off on the handle and look at the wires. If you don't see anything, you can always replace it.
I might do that. When I started this discussion, it was because I wasn't sure how to get into the shift lever. If it is not the same as in the video, I might not do that.

The switch is at the top of the shifter, and it's wire runs into the body of the control. Some of them have an access plate on the length of the shift handle. The access plate is easy to remove and you may see if the wiring is rubbing.

The other choice is to remove the shifter handle and inspect the wiring. Some shifter handles have a set screw in their base. The control is put into reverse, say at the 3 0'clock position to gain access to the set screw (allen head).

I might do that. When I started this discussion, it was because I wasn't sure how to get into the shift lever. If it is not the same as in the video, I might not do that.
I got the shift lever cover off, and tried to get into it further, but couldn't.
