shift cable bellows

1980 260 mercruiser 1. Replacing drive shaft and shfit cable bellows. Do I need to apply adhesive to shift cable bellows where it attaaches to the gimbal housing? Or just to the ends of the drive shaft bellows.

You Are changing the Cable itself at the same time,.. Right,..??
