Hi, last weekend I lost my shifting ability while I was trying to anchor at our favorite spot.
After some inspection I notice that the bottom cable at my shifting bracket was out of the sucket where the safety pin holds it.

My question is, there is a nut behind the ballast, dioes the nut go all the way back to the cable or all the way close to the ballast and safety pin?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Shift Bracket

Ok, now I know what you are referring two. We call that a barrel, and it's threaded onto the cable for adjustment.

No nuts on it, just the cotter pin holding the barrel into the bracket. The barrel needs to pivot a little bit inside the bracket.
Let me find a picture just to make sure.
