Should be nice. My boy has a bunch of friends over tonight and a couple will be up for some tubing should no kinks arise on SD3. After all these shenanigans I'd like to know just what I've got here.

SD3 was good. 40 (gps) mph at 4500 and lots of throttle left. Definitely too short a prop, but I've not run WOT for more than a few seconds yet. Not sure I trust the tach - looking at an ENM tach/hour meter.

Rented a slip at the samaritan's place. Will take it out a on a flat morning and open it up

Ran great all day. And it burned far less fuel than the old motor did last year. Wife does most of the tow driving and was amazed at how much more responsive it was. Fun times.

Shakedown tubing day, or why I rebuilt the motor. My son and two friends had a blast today. Honestly, so did the adults.

Seemed to be a bit of lift in the tilt cylinder when you backed off the last time?

I'm aware of their limitations but it looked to lift too easily.

Definitely +5000 RPM re your other tacho thread, probably closer to 5500 IMO.

Stock 17" SS prop?

Yeah, I noticed the motor lifted on that throttle cut too. I do have some weeping if the motor is left sitting on the tilt ram - maybe there's a correlation?

I'm running the stock 17" aluminum prop.

Seems to be porpoising a bit. You might have some air in the tilt ram, that needs bleeding.

I may have had it trimmed a bit high there. I suspect this boat would benefit from some passive trim tabs - it's always been a 'banger'.

And the TnT runs full cycle without making any of the noises I associate with air in the system. It was low last year and I put about 200mL of ATF in. It was definitely making odd noises then and until full/bled.

Oh, and bonus!! My buddy with the boat lift I rented has a neighbor with a ton of props for these motors. I'm going to try a 19 and a 21. Based on the video, I don't think hole shot is an issue - this thing just hauls.
