Some years back I had a SR AJ that was a pain in the rear to center when retrievng boat. I installed Stoltz 12" delf centering keel roller and my headaches went away, at least ones associated with loading boat on trailer.

Now, I am having similar problems with a 29' Proline V hull. I will be installing another Stoltz but I cannot remember the best place for this roller. My bunks are huge and about 15+ feet long and mostly support the boat. I have 4 keel roller cross members but I cannot remember if I should install keel roller near winch or first roller cross member that bow first contacts when winchin it. Unfortunately, the two roller cross members towards bow each have a three roller set up that pivots. The outbound rollers in each set up are 12" stoltz and center one is 8" stoltz. I could replace one of these 12" rollers in each of the set up? Any recommendation is appreciated. My get feeling is to install it at the first cross member.

Re: Self Centering Keel Roller

depends on what part of the boat needs help centering... if you can generally center the front easily but the stern is often off then put it in the rear.... if you have guide-ons that center the stern but the bow misses the stop then put it near the front

if the whole boat gets off to the side start with putting it in the rear and consider adding more of them...
