is there anywhere else i can get serial # from a evinrude v4 motor the id tag is missing on mine

Look on top of the powerhead, near the rectangular water cover to the rear of the flywheel. Should be a quarter-sized "freeze" plug with the numbers on it.

im not seeing one on either of my v4 motors but might be covered up by bracket that coils are bolted to
