Seeking Info on 2001 Evinrude 135 FLCHT

Is this a good or bad motor, I haven't read anything bad for the 2001 Evinrude 135 hp ficht?<br />The manufacturing date on the motor is 10 of 2000 so I believe that makes it a 2001 motor.<br />Is this motor worth spending money on,it only has 7 hours on it.

The guy that owned the boat died after he had the boat for one summer and the new owner went to a 150hp 4 cycle. Thats what I was told<br />Mike

I'd come at it from the other side.<br /><br />I buy a boat,scrap a Ficht with 7 hours on it,buy a NEW 150 4 stroke .... <br />.... now I sell the Ficht.<br /><br />Maybe,but the seller has more $$$ to play with than I do.<br /><br />DHP

Noted<br />But have you read or heard anything about the 2001 Evinrude 135 FLCHT being good or bad.<br />Would you consider it in the same class as the other motors and to stay clear?

I have to say I'd stay clear.My faith in Bombardier is limited,as far as support on these outboards.<br /><br />They do seem to have a GREAT thing going with E-TECH.<br /><br />DHP

The 2001 engines were made by OMC and backed up by Bombardier, Mike. <br /><br />The V6 Ficht engines had a lot of expensive trouble, but the V4s seem to be okay.<br /><br />Personally, I would avoid it.
