seat cushions

notice some seats are very firm, cobalt for example, and some such as chaparral are very soft. what's the difference and will it matter over time?

Probably all in how well you like one vs. the other … and then how well you take care of 'em. My cushions are the originals (40 years old) and are still in pretty good shape. Fairly soft, and I can't imagine they're anything special as Silverline was a mid-range boat.

Foam density would account for the difference. The higher density foam should hold up better over time.

Also a hard cushion will last longer than a soft one: less flex in the material and on the seams.
