seahorse?

I am new to this kind of stuff. I bought this boat today and it has a 70hp seahorse on it. I dont know year of it. It is missing the gas tank, battery, and Solenoid.It has good compression the boat is in good shape.Where do i need to go to start fixing this boat and finding out about it.

Welcome to iboats.

Your outboard is a Johnson. Look for the ID plate on the mount and tell us the model number.

To find your model number, look on the outside of the transom bracket for a silver plate riveted on the side. If you plan to do the servicing yourself, pick up an Original equipment Manufacturer manual for your model and year. It will pay for itself many times over. You can usually find one on ebay for around $30
