Hi All,

I was offered a free boat...the term free always scares me when it used with boat. I would always say free is for me. But I am looking for some guidance on this boat.
I just looked at it today:
Yellow Sea Nymph (17-19ft)
120 HP Merc
I have no idea on the model of sea nymph yet, has no visible model names from under the tarp. I was told it hasn't run in 5 years. The trim for the motor is compromised. The trailer needs new tires. Other than those few things I know nothing about it.
Any feedback or warnings as to whether or not this is a feasible project? Or should I just bide my time and wait for the right deal?

WAIT unless being paid to haul away. Sitting outside unused for 5 years. Interior indicates more problems with the floor and everything under it.

Unless you have a huge BANK account, want to spend about a year of weekends and are really in love with that boat ......then go ahead. I would politely say NO THANK YOU and walk away.

That is a money pit and I see a TREMENDOUS amount of work needed. My advice is to PASS on it ;)

What is going on, is the owner is looking for someone to haul it off for him, so he does not have to pay someone to do it. I would say, no thanks, not quite what I am looking for.
