Sea Nymph outboard choice?

I have a 1986 15' fish n ski aluminum sea nymph and am looking to get a newer motor. I am talking with someone about a 1996 40hp Johnson 2 cylinder 2 stroke. I am wondering since the max hp is listed at 80 if a 40 will do a good job for me.

I've got a 16'10in fish/ski sea nymph with a 50 hp johnson and it flies. Mine is rated for 100 but that would be overkill as far as I'm concerned.

I just got a 14' Sea Nymph R and am looking also.I sold my Bass Tracker Pro Deep V-17 and it had a 40 Mercury on it.It would go 28 mph at 5500 rpm.I think you would enjoy the 40.
