After reading hundreds of posts of cracked blocks, manifolds leaking . etc... I was very nervous after finding a gallon of extra thick milkshake after running my "new to me" boat last weekend....

I bought the boat up in the mountains of the catskills... Cold nights, condensation, boat was also left without a tilt to drain. Rainy March sitting out etc....

After inspecting the engine for leaks etc.. and running the engine for a half hour with excellent and consistent oil pressure i was baffled-

Happy ending------ Changed the oil 4 times----- Ran for 30 mins last night --Oil is like fresh syrup....... I am simply thrilled

Just wanted to share a happy ending to my battle with watery oil.

Plan on heading out Friday Afternoon for First launch.. Marlboro NY

Good luck, but if you were running on muffs, you might not see a problem. When you do put it in the water and try it, keep an eye on your oil for a while. Your raw water pump puts out more volume than you can get from a hose.

Ayuh,... I wouldn't start celebrating just yet,...
Not until you've put a few hours on it, under Load...

yup my 4.3 would run all day on muffs with no problem, put her in the water and fifteen minutes would fill the crankcase from the block that was cracked.hope for better luck for you.as said though keep a good track of that crankcase the first few times out.
