What is the likely outcome in years ahead?

I'm not criticising, just trying to understand.

Duna, the outcome is that people would have a healthy understanding of guns and what they really do! Kids, and some adults, see guns and the results from tv and video games. Hey, they are pretty cool! Wow!

But when a youth is given proper training in the handling and use of a gun, and sees the results on a squirrel, rabbit, deer, etc, they will give a second thought before aiming it at a person.

I actually agree with LD on the training part, although I oppose the government handing out the firearms, and there are some that are too unstable mentally to handle the fire power, and in truth, some do not need a gun.

But I do understand what he is getting at, and the point he is trying to make.

Nazi Weapons Act of 1938 (Translated to English)

* Classified guns for "sporting purposes".
* All citizens who wished to purchase firearms had to register with the Nazi officials and have a background check.
* Presumed German citizens were hostile and thereby exempted Nazis from the gun control law.
* Gave Nazis unrestricted power to decide what kinds of firearms could, or could not be owned by private persons.
* The types of ammunition that were legal were subject to control by bureaucrats.
* Juveniles under 18 years could not buy firearms and ammunition.

Liberals are neat.

It's all about education. Ask second graders all kinds of sexuals questions without notifying the parents, sex ed in fourth grade, perverted sex ed in 5th grade all because the key is education.

But educating children about weapons is just wrong. The double standard is appauling.

They love the freedom to create the socialist utopia and sexual pig stye on other peoples dime, and love the protection afforded them by our military, but won't let recruiters do their job to fill the ranks of the military in their home town. Idiots.

They ignore their own laws when the group violating them is one of their pet organizations. Have a gay club is school but no gun club. Why is it that those who claim to be the most tolerant are really the least?

There has to be a penalty for intentionally passing an illegal law. If they don't like being part of this country, just invite Castro up and see if you can be annexed.

Another hypocracy.
In the liberal spirit, they the liberals, have missed the absolute chance to experience it all on their own terms.
If they were true to their own beliefs they would have included law enforcement also.
At least then we might respect them for their true convictions.
Instead their motive is to discriminate against a legal and minority culture and violating those civil rights.

^^ ditto ^^... if guns were truly evil, they would be evil no matter whose hands they are in.

Columbus Ohio just passed a looney-lefty gun ban...The NRA just cancelled it's plans to have the convention there, which means someplace a little more freedom-loving will get the estimated $20-million economic benefits.

Too bad, Columbus!

blade x- no, it's not a joke. you simply missed my point. i've recently come to realize why i support so much govt control and regulation... because i don't trust most of the people in this country. call it cocky, conceded, whatever... the avg american isn't capable of owning a gun. neither is he/her capable of driving a car or drinking alcohol responsibly.

matttttt25,

You must still be in the closet. Getting rid of private gun ownership we wouldn't have a problem.

wake up BOY! guns don't kill people, people kill people. Bats, knives, rocks, crowbars, tire-irons, fists, etc can kill. Only those that use them that way will kill. I'll keep my guns so when one of those thugs who don't listen to "our" rules comes around, he'll have another thing coming. You get rid of private gun ownership, the criminal will run rampant because they know the average citizen can't defend themselves. Plus, with your thinking, you're eroding our CONSTITUTION. You know, that's that document that makes us a FREE country!

get back in your closet and leave our ways alone.....or go join one of those "liberal" countries that have outlawed gun ownership and have high crime rates!

Don't know what event spawned your new found theories, but based on what you posted we should all live in caves, without electricity, wearing togas without a waist tie, and owning nothing sharper than a crayon.

Might be some merit in what you say Mattttttt. The reason is that we are now multiple generations into citizens who have been educated (or not) by Godless liberal philosophy. We did not have these problems (at least to the current extent) prior to 1962. Do I need to remind you the signifigance of that date???
