Always a difficult question. It really depends upon your preferences - do you want a dry or "wet" sail? How much room, solo or with crew? Are you sailing on open water or on a small inland lake? What kind of skills do you have? Do you want a minimum of fuss, (just mainsheet and tiller), or do you like to fiddle with a multitude of controls (jib, traveller, barberhauls (sp?), cunningham, etc)? Do you just want a leisurely sail or do you like to race? <br />To start, I would suggest checking out any local sailing clubs. You can also check out some websites such as <br /> http://www.sailboatsales.com/boats.htm <br />www.sailboatowners.com <br />and ebay motors sailboat section<br />also just research by doing a google search of small sailboats. <br />I am sure you will find something you enjoy.
I would like a dyrish sail anyway. I'd like to be able to take 1-2 people sailing, On a inland lake, I'm happy with a simple rig. I would like to mostly just sail around but it would be fun to race some.
