Old fuel left in a 3 gal omc tank has gone bad. Some rust in the bottom of the tank. Should I fool with trying to clean it or just trash it and get a plasatic tank?
personally i would get a plastic tank, less hassle, never rust again, plus even if you think you have it clean it could still pick up some fine dirt to clogg your carb
If it was a old dual line tank I would restore it with Kreem. If its a single line just replace it as it is not cost effective to restore it. I have had (and helped) several customers restore the old tanks. This is great stuff and used in old motorcycles and vintage cars.... http://www.kreemproducts.net/
