Don't know enough about him to judge.
1995 was the last time I heard him.
Really liked his TV show though.

You really don’t need to hear him, just read some of the post on dockside, evidently he sends out the e-mail every day it’s the same script.....Did someone mention Lemmings?8)

Hey. Research it a bit...

I did, and here's what I found from http://nobelprize.org/nomination/peace/nominators.html . While it could be authentic, I fail to see which category would cover LDF.

Qualified Nominators – The Nobel Peace Prize

The right to submit proposals for the Nobel Peace Prize, based on the principle of competence and universality, shall by statute be enjoyed by:

1. Members of national assemblies and governments of states;
2. Members of international courts;
3. University rectors; professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes;
4. Persons who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;
5. Board members of organizations who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize;
6. Active and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee; (proposals by members of the Committee to be submitted no later than at the first meeting of the Committee after February 1) and
7. Former advisers appointed by the Norwegian Nobel Institute.

And this is the part I really like! Brende and Sorensen are members of the Norwegian Parliament (that would be #1, above), and are eligible to nominate regardless of their party affiliation. Be happy to discuss facts further when you get some ... :love:

My guess would be #3....professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law...

February 1, 2007

Professor Ole Danbolt Mjøs

Chairman,

Norwegian Nobel Institute

Henrik Ibsens Gate 51

NO-0255

Oslo, Norway

Dear Dr. Mjøs:

Landmark Legal Foundation herewith submits the name of Rush Limbaugh as an unsolicited nomination for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

We are offering this nomination for Mr. Limbaugh’s nearly two decades of tireless efforts to promote liberty, equality and opportunity for all mankind, regardless of race, creed, economic stratum or national origin. We fervently believe that these are the only real cornerstones of just and lasting peace throughout the world.

Rush Limbaugh is a nationally syndicated radio talk show host in the United States and one of the most popular broadcasters in the world. His daily radio show is heard on more than 600 radio stations in the United States and around the world. For 18 years he has used his show to become the foremost advocate for freedom and democracy in the world today. Everyday he gives voice to the values of democratic governance, individual opportunity and the just, equal application of the rule of law – and it is fitting the Nobel Committee recognize the power of these ideals to build a truly peaceful world for future generations.

Thank you for your thoughtful and serious consideration of this nomination. Should you require additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Mark R. Levin

President

I haven't had as much pleasure gloating at the expense of socialists since the 2004 elections :)
They can't handle it :) I can just see the flock of oddballs carrying protest signs and writing nasty letters to the UN and the NNI over this. LOL!!!!!

Pointer,

Mad? Mad about what? I was simply going to quote you from the Gore thread regarding this award being anti-American and then agree with you on that point.

I was also going to congratulate Bekosh on his fine Al Gore Point as well, as I agree with him also.

I chose, "nevermind" because I figured, what's the point?

I really could not care any less. I did not post to the Gore thread and only decided not to on this one after I clicked the post button. I edited my post to read "nevermind."

12,

this is a "hoot"? You really should get out a bit more. You are trying too hard to get something out of this that is not there. That is the "hoot."

Re: Rush Limbaugh nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.

Besides, what does it mean to be nominated? It certainly does not mean the person is worthy.

So you righties were thrown a bone...so what?Unfortunately it was thrown from your own side of the fence. Amazing what you will clench onto when you have been grasping at air after several months of whining.

I'm with CJY, regarding Al Gore,

Besides, what does it mean to be nominated? It certainly does not mean the person is worthy.

just a question here.........
do any of you folks REALLY think either Al or Rush is worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize ? not to mention $10,000,000
the only person ever worthy was Mother Teresa.

Well, I think it should be an award that is given when it is deserved not just because the calandar is new.

It used to mean something, now it is a prize for political correctness. Too bad, the world needs to acknoledge the true champions of peace.

That's 10 million Norwegian Kroner.... 1.6 million US... or about 1/2 of what Rush makes in a year. :p

Re: Rush Limbaugh nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.

Sorry Crunch, you embarrass him by underestimating his wealth. He makes over 7 million a year for sure. He was trying to educate a liberal the other day (while the liberal called him a cheap basterd) and disclosed that he was humiliating Rush by asserting he made as little as 7 million a year. 8)

Success, nothing tastes quite like it.
