what is the torque for those 15 screws on cover plate. I have a book it says 100 inch pounds. Another source says 270 in pounds. also torque for adapter plate to motor. Book says 225 inch pounds. Sounds kinda low. But this is aluminum.

I got everything done except remove plate under lower cowl. Rear bolt near exhaust does not want to come loose. I am ready to go fishing. I have motor back together. I will go if it ever stops raining. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!! Made things easier.

Hate to say - but motor still not running right -all that work for naught. One thing i have noticed is it runs good on land but when i put in water acts bad. Back pressure problem maybe. i changed the reeds a few years ago.

Hate to say. its still running rough after all that. One thing i noticed it runs better with muffs than in water. Back pressure problem? I did change reed valves a while back. It was spitting gas out the carb. other than that i am lost. I have had this boat and motor 21 years with little maintenance. The lake i live on has a lot of stumps and i have hit my fair share. I am noticing a little rattling noise. But my compression is good 120 both cyl it runs good at mid high rpms. i have the static timing at 30.
