I have a 1992 Force 120hp, Ran well last year. Stored for winter - properly winterized with gas stabilizer etc. Topped up gas-oil mix, started right up and took if for a run. Idling high (2500 rpm and topped out at about 4500 rpm. Check for spark at each cylinder - all good. Engine was built a number of years ago and has about 175 hours since. Always ran great. Owned it since new, Thoughts on what to check? Thx,, Nick

Suspect gas not getting through carb(s).
Partial blockage causing a lean condition which will give you the high idle.

The same lack of gas will keep engine from reaching full throttle rpm's.

Disassemble and clean out the carbs, try not to damage gaskets, float, or needle valve or you will be buying 2 carb rebuild kits, at $90 each.
Don't buy a generic rebuild kit, Buy only the factory kit from Mercury.
