Man what a super nice trip on glassy smooth water. Jeez my Chief's been winterized and put away for 3 months now... :cold:

It's all over now, guys. I got out on Saturday, too, with highs in the 50's and bright sunshine. I was fishing in shirtsleeves. Yesterday I was scraping ice off the windshield and now it's snowing. I'll probably get a couple more days before the ramp ices in.

There were 7 other boats fishing in the bay I was in on Saturday! It's a nice advantage of outboard power in cold climates.

Go out NYE and come back in after midnight. Then you can say you rang out the old and rang in the new. Weather permitting, of course! LOL

I got a death certificate on the ol' Cherokee this week from my local shop. Hole in the subframe by the rear spring shackle and bad brake lines. I hate road salt. BUT...it turned out to be an opportunity to greatly increase my towing piece of mind and range with a major upgrade:

'03 Tundra with a dealer replaced frame (from their big truck recall) and literally zero body rust. She's a runner! I love it so far. 7100# towing capacity and big discs all around. I can bring the Chief to the coast or the Hudson now for Stripers.

So is the Jeep in Rust Heaven or did they take it in trade, Chem?

Nice ride!

Chief is going to look really good behind that rig Chem! Big fan of the old-style Tundra! :thumb:

He would have taken it at junk value but it's not driveable with the brakes. I'm going to just sell it as a parts vehicle as there are a ton of Jeep hobbyists around here. Thanks!

I was looking for a 3rd gen 4runner and saw this on a lot. I did some research and people who own these love them. It's a cast iron version of the Land Cruiser 4.7, which, aside from being belt-driven, is pretty indestructible. And hand crank windows! :hail:
Nice looking tow vehicle, congrats

:rip: Jeep

The 17 year old Jeep ran and drove great, but the metal cancer is fierce up here. I'm going to fluid film the undercarriage on this one.
